The course is intended to help college first-year students improve their use of the English language by learning the critical grammatical structures necessary for communicative functions such as narrating, describing, giving instructions, etc. and to acquire adequate vocabulary needed for academic study. The emphasis is on the use of English for communication and learning purposes.
